Interactive Music Room - beginning-lower primary. Suitable for ages 4-7yrs |
Cheryl Burgemeister is a South Australian primary music teacher. She is experienced in Kodaly, Orff and many other music education approaches. She also has expertise in Interactive Whiteboards. Cheryl has created music lessons and materials using the Easiteach system, creating exciting ‘New Blends’ for music education. She is currently working on an interactive version of the Bushfire Press classroom music program, ‘Music Room’. Cheryl will be demonstrating the first title - ‘The Interactive Music Room level 1 (beginning primary)’ at this year’s ‘Creating New Blends’ conference. This resource will be released in Feb, 2010, so ‘New Blends’ delegates will be the first to see this exciting new resource. Come along and experience a brand new music ed technology. |

with Elastics... New, Exciting and Very Different (Suitable for children aged 4 years and over) |
Remember playing with elastics when you were a child? New and wonderfully original ideas for the use of elastics for use by individuals, pairs, groups of 3, small and large groups of children. This will be a practical session so come prepared to participate. |

Mixing it Together - Blending Kodaly & Orff Techniques |
This workshop will provide ideas and a basic understanding of Kodaly techniques in the Orff classroom and show how they can complement each other. Participants will be given a basic understanding of Kodaly techniques, hand signs, solfege, time names, how to use and choose repertoire and an introduction to the spiral Kodaly curriculum. This will be hands on workshop with lots of participation in games and songs. |

Participants perform the traditional Iranian Music by using folk Rhythm. Meanwhile learning how to play Traditional Percussion Iranian Instruments. |

and Soundwaves: Hands-on activities to blend Science and Music (Ages 8-16) |
Hands-on activities using movement and Orff instruments will be used to illustrate the science of sound. Other musical activities linking music to scientific topics will also be shared. |
