Out of the blender: African recipes for Orff classrooms
This workshop takes a Xhosa song from the Eastern Cape of South Africa and transfers it to barred instruments, retaining the elements of African music making embedded in the sung tradition: harmony, independent parts, cross rhythm and groove.  In keeping with style, parts for moving bodies, joyful voices and tuned and untuned percussion will contribute to the learning.
